RENZO CIANFANELLI: Perhaps Britain had better go now

Lettera pubblicata dal Financial Times

Sir, As a life-long Anglophile with two British children who still keeps a home in Marylebone Village, London W1, it gives me no pleasure whatsoever to watch the current bout of Little Englanditis and Europhobia in which even David Cameron appears to indulge. The patience of other EU members, after well over 40 years of trying to accommodate these insular antics, is wearing thin. If Britain insists on veto, and on its vision of semi-detached membership to an EU that it really does not want, the answer may well be – with my personal regret – “in the name of God, go!”
